Adoption Process

Please begin the application process by filling out our adoption application. We require an approved application before we introduce the dog or cat in question (our PACC members) to potential adopters. The application requests basic details about you, your home, and characteristics of the animal you are looking for. This helps us begin a conversation about which of our adoptable animals may be appropriate for your home. We will verify home ownership/landlord permissions and contact vet references, and we will contact qualified adopters to ask follow-up questions. We may reply via email or phone call, and, as our rescue is volunteer based, our response times vary. Please note that there is an adoption fee for each animal. Adoption fees vary and can be submitted via Paypal (credit card), Venmo, cash, or check.

Once we have an approved application and have determined that a particular PACC member may be well suited to your home, we arrange a meet-and-greet with your family and our pups. Any dogs that you own should be present to ensure that everyone gets along. We may require multiple meet-and-greets depending on the needs of the animal and of your family. Prior to adoption we conduct a home visit and introduce the animal pups to all family members.

We often receive multiple applications for each animal. An approved application does not mean that you are guaranteed to adopt the animal that you applied for or are interested in. We work hard to send our PACC members to the home where they are most likely to thrive. We may favor a home with a large fenced yard and an active family for a high energy dog, for example, or pair a more laid-back couch potato with a family that describes themselves as homebodies. We will do our best to pair you with any pup we have available that may be a good match for your family. We hope that we can help you adopt, but if we don’t have the right pup for you at this time, we sincerely hope that you all find a dog that is a great match for your family.
